I had this kit build and displayed unpainted for many years while I lived in California. An earthquake caused it to nosedive off my shelf and damaged alot of parts. He sat disassembled in his box and after two moves and several years I finally buckled down to finish him a few weekends ago.
Used two new painting techniques. The white is mixed with some very light lavender that gives the suit a much more 'smokey' look. This was also my first attempt at a more complete airbrush weathering and shading effect. Results were not 100% what I wanted, as I could not achieve the 3 tone gradient I was trying for and had to instead settle on a two tone shade. I will have to practice more in the future.
Damaged/Lost parts:
Lost trigger finger - Ordered replacement part Large crack in center of one of the sub wings - Metal pins added and crack filled Broken palm on both hands near trigger finger - 1 part replaced with mirrored part dremeled from a mistakenly ordered replacement part for other palm. Other palm reinforced with metal pin. Various broken internal components in arms and legs - Lots of replacement parts Broken fold joint on buster rifle - New joint made with metal pins
